Based in Shoreham by Sea, we now employ circa 350 employees but we still have ambitious growth plans for the future.

We’re looking for Hygiene Operatives across both day and night shifts, ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. 

You will help ensure that our manufacturing areas are kept hygienically clean, so that all food we produce is safe for our customers to eat. This is critically important to our manufacturing processes.

What does the role involve?

  • Frequent handling of cleaning chemicals, following COSHH training given, whilst wearing appropriate company issue PPE
  • Cleaning of Food Manufacturing equipment, by dismantling the equipment to get access to all parts & reassembling correctly at the end of the clean in a timely fashion following training given.
  • Cleaning of factory fabrications, such as walls, floors, drains etc. following a predetermined schedule
  • ensuring ready-to-use chemical stock within the factory is always topped up
  • ensuring chemical dosing stations are fully functional and reporting any defects to your manager. Replenishing chemical kegs as required.
  • Refilling factory dispensers with blue roll, soap, sanitiser, and barrier cream as required
  • Emptying factory waste bins and promoting good recycling practices
  • Reporting all ‘near misses’
  • Contribute to the production of hygiene SOPs / CIC’s
  • Reporting any damaged or defective equipment / cleaning tools to your supervisor
  • Cleaning of staff PPE, using washing equipment provided
  • Keeping High Risk and Low risk changing rooms clean and tidy
  • Management of Factory clothing – ensuring clean overcoats are always available for factory staff
  • Completion of cleaning records for duties undertaken each day
  • Other duties as required by management

What are we looking for?

  • Ability to work alone under own initiative, in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to prioritise workload
  • An eye for detail
  • Good standard of verbal and written English
  • Level 2 Food Safety qualification
