With the New Year fast approaching, we thought we’d take a little time to reflect on this year and to share with you exciting news about the year ahead.

So to start, this year, we sold 10.9 million pies, quiches and rolls which equates to 751 miles of pastry and pastry free (that’s roughly London to Copenhagen if you walked it)! Which means a lot of you are buying our recipes and for that we are really grateful.

In 2019 we’ve got lots of exciting new additions coming up. Starting with our latest and very exciting venture: our first vegan pie. From the 2nd January in Sainsburys you can purchase our Special Guest Velvety and Vegan Creamy Mushroom and Kale Pie. This delicious (if we do say so ourselves) pie is full of Portobello, porcini and chestnut mushrooms, cooked in a creamy sauce with curly kale and pearl barley. Is your mouth watering already? Ours certainly are.

Another exciting event coming up in 2019 is the release of a new veggie cookbook which we are working very hard on. More and more people are choosing to go meat free and so we want to broaden our horizons further to bring you all things delicious and cooked with love. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled (pardon the pun) on our website and social pages in the upcoming months for launch details.

Finally, we are always looking to become more sustainable. We already use recycled and recyclable materials in our packaging and we are stepping this up that bit further over the next year. In the spring, we will begin trialling the use of FSC certified cardboard trays across our range of parcels – allowing us to continue to protect them but in a more sustainable way. Providing this all goes well, this will roll out across all of our products, reducing our use of plastic and making our packaging easier to recycle.

With that, we will leave you to whatever festive activities you will be partaking in – whether it be stuffing your face with left over pigs in blankets or just watching a festive film. Thank you for your continued support and we wish you a very Happy Higgidy New Year!
