Higgidy

Cheap Imitations

If you were to buy the ingredients in the supermarket and make a higgidy pie they would cost way more than if you bought a higgidy pie. So when you find a pie that costs a quid you have to ask what went into it and how is it possible – we don’t know but we would worry both about the ingredients and the people that the made it. We are proud of our pies and we understand their value. We're only interested in making the best pies, tarts and quiches; not the cheapest.

Camilla says...

“The reality of the 21st century is that food has become too cheap. It frightens me when I go to the supermarket and see how cheap things in the pie and quiche aisle have become. There’s a premium attached to buying quality ingredients and it takes time and effort it takes to make a delicious pie. To manufacture such cheap food you must compromise quality, wholesomeness & ethics. At Higgidy we have decided not to cut corners in order to make our pies cheap because we believe people are rediscovering the value of good wholesome food and we want to provide that for them.”
