With the higgidy Free Range Pork Sausage and Mash Pie there's nothing's better than some Pan Fried Cabbage with Whole Grain Mustard. It's easy to cook and nothing like that horrid stuff you used to get at school.
- 4 tbsps cider vinegar
- 4 tbsps water
- 2 tbsps olive oil
- a big knob of butter
- Half a green cabbage, core and stalk removed, shredded
- 3 ½ tbsps grainy mustard
- Salt and freshly milled black pepper
- Place the cider vinegar, water, olive oil and butter in a large frying pan.
- Place the shredded cabbage on top and cover with a lid.
- Place over a hot heat and bring up to the boil. Cook, covered for approximately 3 minutes. The liquid will steam cook the cabbage.
- Remove the lid and bubble away the excess liquid, turning the cabbage from time to time, this will take about 2 mins.
- Add the whole grain mustard and season. Turn the cabbage and lightly fry for a further 30 seconds.
- Serve with a warm Higgidy Sausage and Mash Pie and a large glass of ale.
