Little Pie of Mine

by Leo Hall on the 21st of September 2011

Little Mushroom and Leaf Spinach Pie,
You are so beautiful and shapely to my eye,
And when I cup you gently in my hand
Time falls away like tiny grains of sand.
I hestitate before I take a tender bite,
Your pastry, your starry top, are perfect and so light.
I savour every moment of your sumptuous, rich taste,
Taking care to eat you slowly, rather than in haste.
Delightful love warms my empty heart,
Your conception is a creative work of art.
And as the final offering dribbles down my chin,
I survey my empty plate with a truly satisfied grin.
