Higgidylicious!
The other day I got home from work
But there was nothing for me to eat
Then Husband arrived and said to me
I’ve bought you a little treat
He produced from his bag
A sweet little box, it’s colour was purple and green
The top part was plastic and nestling inside
A great looking pie could be seen
It’s title was Higgidy Lunch Box pie
And it was just the right size for one
My mouth started salivating;
It looked tasty as well as fun
The pie was flavoured with Spinach
enhanced with some crumbly white feta
With roasted red peppers added to that
What pie could possibly be better?
Husband said I could have it for tea
And set the pie out on a plate
But as soon as his feet had departed
I knew that I just couldn’t wait
Into the oven went the Higgidy pie
and after a moment or two
A delicious aroma filled the room
and that was the moment I knew
This Higgidy pie was special
Handmade and packed just right
Then when I took it out of the oven
I was met with a sumptuous sight
Perfect pastry, oozing veg
and packed full of goodness too
I’d liked to say I savoured it
But it was gone in a minute or two
When Husband returned he sniffed the air
And looked in vain to find a crumb
‘Darling’ I said ‘The Higgidy pie
is already inside my tum’
Since that fateful day I have tried the whole range
Each pie is wholesome and nutritious
But one thing is constant whatever the size
These pies are just Higgidylicious!
