A Great Pie-dea
I’ve tried making quiches and I’ve tried making pies
But to say I was good, well it would be lies
As I sit in a kitchen filled with burnt pastry and flour
I feel life ticking by hour by hour
But then an idea forms in my mind
A light bulb moment; one of a kind
Why I am I toiling and slaving away
To make dry, tasteless pies day after day?
Surely there are people that do this for fun
Whose pastry is flaky and crusty and yum
‘Of course’, my friend cried when I told him my thought
‘Why struggle and fret when such joys can be bought
Higgidy Pies are the ones which you seek
They make such tasty treats I buy them week upon week’
I rushed to the shop at the end of the road
And when I saw the nice packaging I literally glowed!
And the taste, oh the taste- I’ve never looked back
Now hush while I open just one more pack…
