Hand folded puff pastry filled with British Chicken from Freedom Foods Farms, British Freedom Foods baked ham and leeks in a creamy sauce, spiked with wholegrain mustard and topped with a puff pastry hat. This is our biggest ever pie.
The pie to share is big enough for everyone so we suggest cooking up something big enough to go round. You won't go too far wrong with Camilla's Garlicky Green Beans...
- 500g / 1 lb green beens
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 2 coarsely chopped garlic cloves
- a little grated lemon peel and a squeeze of the juice
- Cook beans in large pot of boiling salted water until crisp-tender, about 4 minutes. Drain. Run them under cold water to cool.
- Melt the butter with the olive oil in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add garlic; stir for 30 seconds. Add beans; sauté until heated through, about 5 minutes.
- Stir in lemon peel and squeeze of lemon juice. Season with sea salt and cracked black pepper. Can be served hot or at room temperature.

Well what a revelation.
My daughter suggested that I try your chicken pot pie and I have to admit I was very sceptical as I am an old fashioned cook who prefers to makes everything from scratch.
She bought one for me to try and we served it with new potatoes, cauliflower and broccoli. It was absolutely delicious and I really could not have made it any better myself. Thank you Higgidy.

I had my first Higgidy pie this evening, and I am very glad that I picked it out. It was a chicken pot pie, and it was lovely. I was even more pleased, on perusing the box, to find that it was made literally down the road in Shoreham.
Thank you ever so, and keep up the good pie related work :-)

I just wish I could sample this delicious-sounding pie to share. Alas I have been overtaken by age and infirmity and can no longer get to Sainsbury’s. In fact I can’t get anywhere. My lovely daughter does my shopping for me. She lives in Worcestershire, so has quite a journey to reach me in Dorridge. She comes off the M42 and there is a large Tesco nearby, so she shops in there. I wish they sold Higgidy Pies. Could you not persuade them to, or don’t you want to go “down market”. I love your emails and news of what you and the team have been up to. Your website is really interesting. I send you all my very best wishes. A long time ago I sent you a poem for which I received a tea towel as you had run out of aprons. I was quite a pie maker myself in days gone by. Now all I do is make a nuisance of myself.
Very best wishes to you all at Higgidy. Have a happy Christmas, and a happier New Year.
Joan

The most lovely pie I have ever eaten! I was so impressed I called my mother and sister and even posted on Facebook my love for this pie of gorgeousness! I ate it with some lovely home-made mashed potato and some french beans… bellisimo! I now buy one a week for that midweek treat for me and my fiance.
