Barbara takes the pies out of the oven. It hardly sounds like a difficult job but we can assure you that Barbara is one of the most important people on our team. Because when she gets the pies out of the oven she is the one who decides if they are truly good enough to leave the kitchen as a 'higgidy' pie. And when she finds that someone has put a bit too much glaze on the puff pastry or not quite enough beef in the stew she makes sure we all know about it - there are days when Barbara would make even Gordon Ramsey look like a people-pleaser! But she is actually very fun and she really does make sure the pies are made as well as when Camilla first makes them herself!
