Since Camilla and James started making pies they have made lots. More than one-and-a-half-million. In fact, nobody knows exactly how many they have made because the poor pie-counting man got so frazzled that he lost count. All we know is people just keep buying them and the pastry rolling lady thinks she has rolled enough pastry to cover 47 football pitches!
You can probably imagine that you need a big team of hard-working cooks to make so many pies. And so the higgidy family has just kept growing and growing. But you need a big kitchen to house so much pie-making talent. And when James and Camilla realised that space in the kitchen was getting too small (all the higgidy pie-makers kept elbowing each other when making the pies) they were faced with a Scary-Decision.
In order to have enough space for all the Higgidy cooks they needed to move to a bigger kitchen. After a Pause... some thinking... and a Very-Deep-Breath James emptied his piggy bank and bought a big new kitchen for Camilla, her cooks, and her pies. Believe me, there is no rest for people who passionately believe pies should be properly handmade. It may be tiring work but the cheer of people that love higgidy pies just fuels their Dedication. The future, we hope, will still be higgidy...
