Howard is a wise old piemaker. He spent 40 years working in enormous pie factories, helping to build great big pie machines that could fill and bake 50 run-of-the-mill pies a minute.
"It wasn't always pretty" he said.
When Howard retired from Piemaking, he met Camilla and decided to come and help out. He was rather surprised to find us making our fillings in big pans with big spoons, cutting out little pastry stars, and decorating with roast peppers and pine nuts. But he has enjoyed the experience: "Everywhere else, all I got was complaints. Here people write in and say they liked it. Isn't it fantastic!" We’re thankful for the help of a wise old piemaker.
