Sam and the Sharing website

Sam and the Sharing website

5th of November 2010

Camilla, the clever cook who started Higgidy, has a little brother called Sam. One day, out walking, Sam had a big idea. “Let's make a website where people can lend and borrow things from their community” he thought. “Then people wouldn't need to buy new things they only use once. It would be good for the environment and would get neighbours talking and helping each other. Surely that would make the world a nicer place.”

And so Streetbank was born, a site where you sign up with your postcode, add one thing, however small, a book, a DVD, a ladder, and then get to see and request all the items that people living within one mile of you have added.

If you like Sam's idea and you'd like to know more, you can sign up for Streetbank here: www.streetbank.com
