A Battle Prom is a big day out featuring a classical orchestra with a live battle, cannons, cavalry, fireworks, plus lots of picnics, gazebos and Champagne.

So it was with great excitement that Philippa, Lecia, and the Higgidy team packed up the little Higgidy Kitchen and zipped up to Northamptonshire last weekend for the Althorpe Park Battle Proms

There were lots of very friendly people, waving union jacks, drinking pimms, hanging out in their gazebos and watching the show.  It was happy and civilised, and terribly, terribly English.

Over 250 people entered the competition to win a big bag of pies. We'll be picking the winner in the next few days, so if you entered, do keep an eye on your email.

It was a good spot, said Philippa. We were next to wine and coffee on a nice level pitch, so the pies didn't roll around and the oven door stayed open properly, and everyone was so nice. We enjoyed our day at the battle proms. If you were there, do let us know how you liked it.

Were you there?
