We've put Christmas in a Pie

W^e'v^e pu^t^ Chri^st^mas i^n^ a Pi^e^

20th of December 2010

Camilla had an idea. "Let's put Christmas dinner in a pie" she said. "We'll use turkey and bacon, stuffing and sausage, sage onion and plump dried apricots, but no sprouts and make the best pie ever".

We've taken all the ingredients of a perfect Christmas dinner (minus the sprouts) and packaged them all up into a scrumptious pie. As with all our pies and quiches we've tried hard to make it in the best way possible, so we've used free range turkey and Freedom Foods pork and bacon. It's a whole mix of Christmassy flavours and we think the apricot stuffing makes it really special. Its available in Sainsbury’s, Booths or Ocado.

We hope you like our Christmassy pie and, from all the higgidy cooks, we'd like to wish you a very merry Christmas.

How will you be spending Christmas?

I will be spending Christmas day and Boxing day at work, producing the evening news….but we try to make it a nice atmosphere and everyone has lunch together in the canteen (although I can’t say I am looking forward to the mircrowave lasagne ready meals on offer!)

With my daughter & son-in-law, hopefully able to EAT again after a tooth extraction 21.12.11. As it is my first Christmas living in the south of England, I am really looking forward to it. I love the sound of your Christmas pie, & will try one when my jaws work properly again. A very happy Christmas to you all.

Champagne snowballs, scrambled eggs and smoked salmin with stocking opening at breakfast!
Cooking for the family (13 this year!) very traditional turkey with all the trimmings.
Roaring log fire, upside down christmas tree and whiskey macs whilst opening gifts in the afternoon and the settling down to watcha movie (fall asleep really).

I love it all!!

What’s wrong with sprouts?!

I won’t be eating your Christmas Pie, what about a Veggie Christmas pie, with Chestnuts, red wine . . . etc.

I shall be at home with my brood, including one flying in from Seattle with his American wife, both luckily veggie too, plus M-in-L. (nuff said!)
